After you're finished with the base, paint it white; you should do this in layers too; and i got from someone a good idea; use some lime powder and after drying and polishing you’ll get a nice surface. I only used a lot paint and after drying i got some cracks so it looks more like a ’real’ mask.

The mask’s pattern can be like in the anime or using google you can find other shapes and ways of painting on it; but of course you can make your own too. Firstly draw the pattern on the mask with a light pencil so the little mistakes can be erased easily.

After drawing comes painting. Erase the unnecessary lines; if you can’t erase them than use white paint.

With a scissors' tip or a knife make holes for the cord/string/ribbon.
